Outstanding Cultural Event

Marvin Bowser

Marvin Bowser is a resident of Eagle Harbor and his great uncle was one of the founders of our Paradise on the Patuxent.

"People love talking to artists about their work. This is one of the biggest and nicest surprises I've had as an artist. My Artist's Talk on September 27th, 2019 was a pure joy; and I am so thankful to all who came out and made the experience so wonderful. The event was held at the Thurgood Marshall Center for Service and Heritage through the auspices of President Thomasina Yearwood. I exhibited part of my Color | Light | Movement collection for this event. This video includes brief introductory remarks, the Artist Talk and a Q&A.

Many thanks to President Yearwood, who makes remarks in the video, and my collaborators, Heritage Gallery director, El Badr Cauley and art curator, Carol Rhodes Dyson. I'd also like to thank fellow photographer Patricia McDougall, who took pictures that evening; Clarence Smith or Fortext Video who captured the video; and Sam P. K. Collins who interviewed me that evening for the Washington Informer."

Please visit Marvin's website and the Marshall Center's website to learn more about him and the center. You can also visit sites to see Patricia McDougall's images from the Artist Talk or to read Sam's excellent article in the Washington Informer.
